Nora Creahan

Bio:

I grew up in the coastal New England town of Hingham, Massachusetts. I got my BFA in ceramics from Syracuse University. My desire to focus on working in clay has brought me to Cub Creek. While here, I am continuing to work on two different styles.

Statement:

The sculptural wall pieces reference landscapes as an expression of time, journey and the forces that change. The utilitarian objects that I make are about the power of daily rituals and reference the craft of quilting as a piecing together of time. The act of making these two bodies of work is very different for me, but the ideas that fuel all my art are related and play off each other.
